American Indian Services of Sioux Falls provides a range of services, the highlights of which include: Direct emergency services, tribal parent education, Northern Plains Tribal Arts, Okiciyapi, advocacy, and information & referrals.

Emergency Services

AIS provides emergency services for individuals requiring immediate assistance.

Tribal Parent Education promotes parenthood among native people.

Okiciyapi

The Okicayapi [Helping One Another] Youth Empowerment Project is a Native American cultural life-ways model. This after school program will incorporate language, culture with more traditional mentoring and after school activities. Improving school attendance and the quality of the experience for Native American Children. This program will achieve this goal through culture and language while also strengthen the Native American families and sense of Tiospaye. The current goal is to recruit and serve approximately 50-75 children and a similar number of volunteer mentors beginning in January 2007.
